Rode camels under hot blazing desert sun by the Pakistan border. Slept in the smokey glow of dying camp fires. Hotel manager sent lukewarm beers though he promised charras, couldn’t help feeling a bit cheated. Climbed the 3500 and then some steps up shatrunjaya hill in Palitana. Bare feet, melting white marble and sandstone burning in the lazy high Gujarat noon. Prayed with the monks in stunning old Jain temple village on the hill top. Smoked home rolled beedies with temple renovation craftsmen. Bought a digital dual mantra mantra box on the way down to keep my mind at peace all the way to Mumbai…
